Bartender and sous chef competition returns to Dallas

Back for another year of fanciful drinks-slinging and food face-offs, the Chefs for Farmers Mix Off will unite some of the city’s top bartenders and sous chefs in a competition this Sunday at DEC on Dragon.

On the bartender end of things, eight local cocktail crafters will go head-to-head in creating a summer punch, and it’s up to a panel of judges to pick the best. The victorious beverage will score its creator a spot at the Chefs for Farmers Culinary Village at Lee Park on Oct. 25. Participating bartenders are:

Meantime, four sous chefs will spar in the Celebrity Cruises Challenge, in which they’re tasked with giving a popular street food a farm-to-table spin. Fun! And like the bartender Mix Off, the winning dish will snag its chef a spot in the Culinary Village this fall. Participing sous chefs are:
